Rosemary for Remembrance

Rosemary for remembrance
Of bruises and hurts
And love that blossomed like a briar.
She remembers the man of love
And the caress of delight
That swiped her with a cruel stare
And extinguished her joy.
Now she remembers with pain
The love that crushed her
And cries into the abyss
Of a dark empty tomorrow.
She shrinks day by day.
Fires of sadness smoulder in her heart
Slowly turning her life to ashes.
Far away a man still smiles and
Silently spits upon the name
That once was remembered
As a fragrance and loved in dreams.
