poem for the moon

We’ve got a project said the green man
To put our litter on the dark side of the moon
To build a landfill site wherever we can
And the trouble is we’ve got to build it soon.

We’ll send our plastic and disposable nappies
We’ll send all the half life nuclear radiation
If we can we’ll send the happy clappies
We’ll build UK again as a junk free nation

We’ll send all the kids who paint graffiti
And wear their shirts outside their trousers
The British pubs lost to Italian spaghetti
And all the Saturday night rebel rowsers

We’ll send the fumes but not the cars
We’ll send the phones but please not ours
There’ll be sea gulls in lunar orbit
It’ll be a start and there’s always Mars

It’ll be the best thing you’ve ever seen
England will be pure and green
And for everyone there’ll be more room
When all our rubbish is on the moon
